Inga, Kristia, and Ull’s Underwear Drawer #Elsker

It’s no secret that I’m a huge ST Bende fan. Her NA Paranormal Romance, The Elsker Series is just beautiful in the seamless  mixing of Norse mythology, romance, and a little action. In honour of the release of ENDRE, book two in the Elsker Series I invited ST and the girls over to play today. Since Ull and Gunnar are fierce Asagardian assassins and  Norse Gods, they’re often swooned over. The girls however, don’t share much of the limelight and they totally deserve to. So let’s welcome one of my favourite people,  ST Bende.

ST Bende (3)

Before finding domestic bliss in suburbia, ST Bende lived in Manhattan Beach (became overly fond of Peet’s Coffee) and Europe… where she became overly fond of McVities cookies. Her love of Scandinavian culture and a very patient Norwegian teacher inspired the books of The Elsker Saga (TUR, ELSKER and ENDRE). She is an audio co-host of #NALitChat, and helps compile indie new releases for the USA Today HEA blog. She hopes her characters make you smile and that one day, pastries will be considered a health food.

Find ST on Twitter, her blog, or send her an e-mail. She’s also on Goodreads and Pinterest. While you’re at it, introduce yourself to @UllMyhr — when he’s not saving the cosmos from dark elves, he loves meeting new friends. Especially the human kind.

ST: Ull and Gunnar seem to get all the interview love, so I thought I’d bring the Elsker girls along with me today. Kristia’s our Emily Post expert/Cardiff University co-ed who captured the heart of the immortal assassin/Norse God of Winter, Ull Myhr. And Inga’s our Asgardian goddess who kicks some serious tushie as Fight Choreographer for Odin’s Army, when she’s not spending time with her adorable hubby, Gunnar. Y’all don’t mind if I ask you a few questions, do you?

Inga: Not at all. Hei hei.

Kristia: Hi, ST. Fire away.

ST: Okay, let’s start from the beginning. Inga — what’s it been like living alone with the boys all these years?

Inga: Impossible. They eat everything in sight, use my fancy discontinued shampoo like it’s some easy to come by drugstore brand, and have absolutely no appreciation for my kitchen appliances. One year, I caught Gunnar using my brand new pairing knife to cut the rope we used to tie up the Christmas tree. A rope.

Kristia: *nudges Inga* You love him.

Inga: I do. But I had to special order that knife from Midgard, and this was back before internet shopping. Do you have any idea how difficult it was go get a replacement?

Kristia: Ull wasn’t that difficult back then, was he?

Inga: No, Ull’s always been pretty easy to live with. He did the eating everything in sight and using my shampoo part, but you know his housekeeping habits.

Kristia: *giggles* I do.

Inga: *turns to ST* He’s extremely tidy. Grills a mean swordfish. And has this organizing system for his laundry — *breaks into laughter*

Kristia: Stop it. He’ll kill you if you tell anyone.

ST: Tell anyone what?

Inga: *guffaws* I’m sorry. It’s just too good.

Kristia: Don’t do it, Inga.

Inga: Ull color codes his undies! I’m totally serious. *laughs* He rolls them into neat little tubes and sorts them by color in his underwear drawer. White on the left, black on the right.

ST: Seriously?

Inga: Seriously.

Kristia: He is so going to get you back. And payback with Ull is rough.

Inga: I don’t care. *wipes tear from eye* It’s hysterical. She had to know.

Kristia: *

ST: Next question. You’re obviously great friends. What do you ladies admire the most about each other?

Kristia: I admire Inga’s poise. There’s literally nothing she doesn’t excel at. She’s the best baker, the best fencer, the best decorator — but she’s so nice, you’re never envious or irritated by it. You just want to be around her and absorb her amazingness.

Inga: Thanks Kristia! I admire your strength. You handle every curve we throw at you with such grace. I’m continually amazed. Any normal girl would have run away screaming by now, but you just take a deep breath and go “What would Emily Post do?” and soldier through whatever insane situation we’ve got going on that week. I love you for it.

Kristia: *blushes* I love you too.

ST: Last question. What was your initial impression of each other?

Kristia: Inga stood up at that restaurant and introduced herself, and I just held my breath. She was so graceful, and so beautiful, and so . . . perfect. The only thing running through my head was, Oh my god, if this is what a goddess looks like what on earth is Ull doing dating me.  I was pretty freaked out.

Inga: *laughs* Trust me, you’re already twice the goddess I’ll ever be.  When I first met you I just smiled. Because without even hearing you speak, or knowing anything significant about you, I could see you were absolutely perfect for Ull. You guys moved in this adorable kind of symmetry, and he couldn’t take his eyes off you. I knew how nervous you must have been to meet us, but you showed up and put on a brave face, and that told me how much Ull meant to you. And I absolutely loved you for it. *grins* I am just so, so happy he got over himself and let us come to Midgard to meet you.

Kristia: Me too. *grins back* And now you’re all stuck with me.

Inga: I know! Isn’t it perfect?

ST: It sure is. ;)

Endre (3)

Sometimes, finding your destiny means doing the exact opposite of what The Fates have planned.

Winning the heart of an immortal assassin was a dream come true for Kristia Tostenson. Now she’s knee deep in wedding plans, goddess lessons, and stolen kisses. But her decision to become immortal could end in heartbreak — not only for Kristia, but for the god who loves her. Because while Ull would do anything to protect his bride, even the God of Winter is powerless against the Norse apocalypse. Ragnarok is coming. And the gods aren’t even close to ready.
